Roger looking slightly sheepish apologized "Susan, I really thought I had that in the bag, but those multi - offers are hard to navigate, that's for sure"
Susan turned away from Roger while holding back tears ...."Roger, we need a home for our family and I have reached the point of desperation..."
Roger puffed out his chest in a rare moment of testosterone driven dominance and cut his wife's sentence short "Susan, we are going to live in the inner city! A cool looking terrace house at 54 Manor place has just been put up on the inter-web with Judd and it has all the space we need with six bedrooms, a living room up and down and a bathroom to match. It has a minimal garden as we aren't blessed with green fingers that's for sure!"
Susan grimaced at Roger and retorted "Hey buddy, I am quite good at gardening I feel....well, at least as good at renovating as you aren't!" ..."Does it need much done?"
Roger calmly explained "I have checked out the photos and it looks pretty good, hey, there is always a bit of paint needed somewhere, but as luck would have it, you are amazing on the end of a paint brush!"..."we could try and get in before Christmas and paint over the festive season?"
Susan's face lost all expression as she got out of the car to buy a coconut tripple shot flat white from her favourite Stuart Street cafe. She bent down and poked her head back into the open car window, "Roger, you buy me that terrace house and I will do whatever is necessary, but I won't do electrics ok?!"
Roger quickly interjected "The electrics are all going to be signed off as compliant by the vendors!"
Susan still leaning on the car window, bought her hand up to cup her chin and an inquisitive look on her face gave hope to Roger that Susan was getting keen..."Once the kids have grown up and we are alone, do you think we could convert it into two flats and we could live on the bottom floor Roger?"
Roger with a trace of that testosterone still in his system said "...Good thinking Susan, you are not only a pretty face!...to be fair however, I think I would want to be on top"
Susan walked away still thinking hard. Roger was left in the car entering the Sunday open home time into his phone.
